Since 1974, managing our clients' assets has been our sole focus. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, we’ve earned a national reputation for our risk-sensitive investment philosophy and our active bond and equity strategies. The clients of our firm and its affiliates, who entrust us with more than $15 billion of their assets as of December 31, 2011, include hospitals, foundations, endowments, religious organizations, corporations, municipalities, unions, financial institutions and insurance companies. We also serve a wide range of individual investors through mutual funds, managed accounts and private portfolios. All portfolios are managed using our philosophy of "Participate and Protect®" managing risk to participate in markets when we perceive risk is low and protect capital when we perceive risk is high.
Madison and its subsidiaries manage client assets in actively managed portfolios including:
- domestic, international and global equity portfolios
- fixed income portfolios
- asset allocation portfolios
The Madison organization is controlled by Madison Investment Holdings, Inc., a 100% employee-owned firm. Its affiliates include Madison Investment Advisors, LLC and Madison Asset Management, LLC, both located in Madison, Wisconsin; Madison Scottsdale, LC located in Scottsdale, Arizona; Concord Asset Management, LLC, located in Chicago, Illinois; and NorthRoad Capital Management LLC, located in New York, New York. There are approximately 100 employees in the greater Madison organization, over half of whom are investment professionals.
